We work alongside social workers, GPs, police, housing officers, solicitors, and other professionals to provide specialist domestic abuse support for Romanian-speaking survivors across the UK.
Why refer to us?
Lotus Justice & Support Centre CIC is a specialist domestic abuse organisation serving Romanian and Romani-speaking communities across the United Kingdom. We are a Women's Aid Ally member, NCVO member, and Respect-accredited, providing a culturally and linguistically appropriate service that mainstream provision cannot replicate.
Every case is handled by a qualified Independent Domestic Violence Adviser (IDVA). We offer a free helpline in Romanian and Romani, safety planning, advocacy with statutory agencies, and a structured pathway to legal, housing, and children's services support.
What we provide
IDVA-led case management
Every client is assigned a qualified IDVA who coordinates their safety plan, risk assessment, and multi-agency response.
Romanian & Romani language support
All services are delivered in Romanian or Romani. No interpreter needed — our advisers are native speakers.
Legal advocacy
We support clients through civil and criminal proceedings, Non-Molestation Orders, occupation orders, and immigration matters, working alongside accredited solicitors.
Housing & homelessness
We advocate with local authorities, housing associations, and refuge providers to secure safe accommodation for clients and their children.
Children's services liaison
We attend Child Protection Conferences and core group meetings, providing cultural context and ensuring the survivor's voice is heard.
Community education
Weekly awareness sessions, online resources in Romanian, and a free CPD course for professionals on domestic abuse in migrant communities.
Free helpline
0800 098 2730 — free from any UK phone, answered in Romanian and English. Available for professionals to call on behalf of a client.
Group support
Weekly online emotional support sessions in Romanian every Thursday at 7pm, facilitated by a trained adviser.
Who we can support
We accept referrals for clients who meet the following criteria:
- Romanian or Romani-speaking individuals experiencing or at risk of domestic abuse
- Based anywhere in the United Kingdom
- Any gender — our primary caseload is women and children, but we support all survivors
- Any immigration status, including those with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF)
- Clients do not need to have reported to the police to access our services
- Self-referrals are also accepted — clients can contact us directly

How to make a referral
Complete the online referral form
Use our secure professional referral form at lotusjusticeapp.co.uk/sesizare-profesionist. The form is available in English and Romanian.
We make contact within 24 hours
A qualified IDVA will contact the client (or you, if the client has consented to a three-way introduction) within one working day.
Risk assessment & safety planning
We conduct a DASH risk assessment and develop a personalised safety plan with the client. You will receive a summary with the client's consent.
Ongoing case coordination
We attend MARAC, MASH, and multi-agency meetings as required, keeping you informed at every stage with the client's consent.
